5. August 2022 / Ilka Schwittlinsky

The Institute of Organic Chemistry at the University of Stuttgart (Prof. Dr. Anke Krueger) is looking for a Ph.D. student (m/f/x, TV-L13/2) in the framework of DFG priority programme “Nitroconversion”.

Being part of the diamond material catalysis section within the Krueger Group, this project involves the synthesis, characterization and application of functional nanodiamond materials for the direct photo(electro)catalytic activation of nitrogen. As part of an exciting multidisciplinary and collaborative project, the successful candidate would undertake the production and creative surface design of nanoparticle materials, organic chemical synthesis, and spectroscopic characterization/application studies of the materials produced through photo(electro)catalysis. Ideal candidates should possess a degree in Chemistry or Material Science and have experience with organic synthesis and/or knowledge of material science topics such as nanoparticle chemistry and nanocarbon materials as well as skills related to spectroscopic characterization. An interest in fundamental research and working in an interdisciplinary environment, the ability to work in a team, a good working knowledge of English, self-reliance and reliability are of advantage.
